── Iran vs. Israel: Can We Stop a Nuclear War?
Are we on a collision course to war with Iran? International community demands that Iran should stop its nuclear enrichment program, saying that Iran’s enrichment levels are for nuclear bomb.
However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had already stated, “neither sanctions nor diplomacy has yet had any impact on Iran’s nuclear weapons program….Time to resolve this issue peacefully is running out,” which has raised tensions between Israel and Iran.
Seeking to avoid turmoil before the election in the Middle East, President Obama has repeatedly asked Israel that it should exhaust diplomacy first before considering war.
Although the religious conflict between Islam and Christianity lies at the root of these issues, can we form a bridge between the two and find some points of reconciliation?
To find the real causes of this conflict and explore the path of reconciliation, Ryuho Okawa, founder and president of Happy Science, invited the guardian spirits of President Ahmadinejad and Prime Minister Netanyahu to the General Headquarters of Happy Science in Tokyo on April 17, 2012. The Iran-Israel War Can Happen Any Time
Ryuho Okawa [hereafter referred to as Okawa]I already have a good idea of what both the Iranian President and the Israeli Prime Minister are thinking. They are both hard-liners and I see a confrontation as inevitable.When Prime Minister Netanyahu went to meet with U.S. President, Mr. Obama (March 5, 2012), he probably went to get the green light to commence war. On Mr. Netanyahu’s part though, he hasn’t said that he will attack in the next few days or weeks, but has said that he is not going to wait more than a few years either.
Meanwhile, Iran’s President, Mr. Ahmadinejad, is quite a fundamentalist and has stated that Israel must be erased from the face of the earth.
At this rate, the same situation surrounding North Korea will occur in the Middle East upon completion of Iran’s nuclear development.
Looking back at the past Middle East wars, Israel has always struck first to crush its opponents. It will be the same this time, too. Based on that, I expect this war will break out within the next three years.
When asked which side justice lies on, both guardian spirits will no doubt assert their own positions. This issue the Middle East is facing is two thousand years old. It will not be easy to solve.
