Master Okawa’s Lecture in Osaka: Japan Must Speak Out About Hong Kong Protests and Oman Tanker Attack

Master Ryuho Okawa, founder and CEO of Happy Science, gave a lecture titled “Even So, Do Not Spare One’s Life!” in Grand Cube Osaka (Osaka City) on the 14th of June. Approximately 2,750 people gathered in the venue and the lecture was simultaneously broadcasted nationwide.

Master Okawa recalled a lecture he gave on “Not Giving Up Your Ambition”, which took place in the same venue when the Happiness Realization Party (HRP) was formed. “It has been 10 years, but we haven’t given up on our ambitions,” Master said.

He said that since Japan’s constitution requires separation of religion and state, people misunderstand that to mean “a ban on religions from participating in political activities.” Despite being disappointed that there has been mistreatment of a religious political party, Master Okawa wanted people to understand that their unstoppable, rightful advocacy over the years has become a pillar for the nation.

Hong Kong’s Loss of Liberty Foreshadows Japan’s Crisis

The world is changing rapidly.

On June 9, approximately 1,030,000 protesters marched in Hong Kong to display their disapproval of proposed changes to Hong Kong’s extradition laws. The proposed law would allow for extradition requests from mainland China for wanted criminal suspects. However, if the proposal passes, the “one country, two systems” principle would be dead and Hong Kong citizens would lose their liberty.

In order to attract supporters for the protests, Agnes Chow conducted press conferences and lectures in Japan. Chow was one of the leaders of the Hong Kong democracy protest known as the Umbrella Movement.

However, Japan has yet to express a clear stance towards China’s robbing of liberty. “We hope that the matter will quickly disperse through a peaceful discussion,” was all Chief Cabinet Secretary Suga Yoshihide would say.

Master Okawa gave candid advice towards politicians who remain silent on critical issues that could sway Japan’s future. “Once Hong Kong’s liberty is gone, Taiwan will be next; once Taiwan falls, they’ll come to Senkaku and then to Okinawa. It’s a serious matter that must be discussed for the future of Japan,” he said.

He then criticized China as an atheist nation for prioritizing its expansion of power and taking away people’s liberty, rather than valuing God’s justice. “It is unacceptable for such a large nation to ignore basic human rights. They need to learn,” he said.

Japan Approaches Energy and War Crises

Master Okawa then commented on Iran’s situation. While Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was in Iran to meet with President Rouhani and Supreme Leader Khamenei to help ease tensions between the U.S. and Iran, a Japanese-owned tanker was attacked near the Strait of Hormuz.

Master Okawa stated that this incident was a message to Prime Minister Abe who, along with the U.S., stopped Iranian oil imports. “We’re just obeying what’s told to us by the U.S. and it’s not Japan’s stance. In other words, this is also a warning for Japan.”

He also warned of an energy policy that relies on thermal power generation and shutting down nuclear power plants. “There is oil outside of Iran, but any country we import from will have to go through the Strait of Hormuz. If the Strait is under attack, tankers can’t pass through. This all means that Japan’s energy situation is facing imminent danger.”

Master Okawa explained how Abe’s diplomacy fails because he can’t take a bold stance on anything: the religious conflicts behind U.S.-Iran relations, the fact that Iran poses a nuclear threat and not being able to prevent energy and war crises.

“As much as maintaining an alliance is important, as an independent nation we must declare those things that need to be said,” he powerfully concluded. “For Japan to become an independent nation and correctly transmit its message to the globe—that is what we must continue to do. That is the spirit of ‘not sparing our lives.'”

Master Okawa promised to keep fighting in order to create a utopia on the basis of God’s justice.

Religious Political Party Needed for Correct Value Judgment

After the lecture, Party Leader Ryoko Shaku, along with Osaka Headquarter Branch General Manager Keigo Kazumori, who is from the same party, greeted those in attendance. Mr. Kazumori said:

“Any politician should have a spirit of gratitude toward God and others, along with a religious spirit of working for society and the people,” Mr. Kazumori said. “We will continue to take responsibility to better Japan and Osaka for the future. We will unshakably declare policies and make them come true.”

Party Leader Syaku followed:

“It is a global embarrassment for Japan to be lacking any value judgment. What we need now is a heart of religion. I would like to ask you to help the HRP echo our voice from Japan to the world,” she said.

The lecture covered the following issues:

  • The terror of Chinese mass media not covering Hong Kong’s protest.
  • Japan taking precautions against China before G20 summit.
  • How the world views China’s “justice” of desiring stability and banning freedom of speech.
  • The dangers of materialistic, atheist nations.
  • The work of angels in the spiritual world to fight back against devils.
  • Honest opinions from the guardian spirits of President Rouhani and Leader Khamenei.
  • How the Islamic states view America’s “religiousness.”
  • Where Islam is ahead and where they’re falling behind.
  • Whether it is truly just for Israel, who opposes Islamic countries, to be allowed to carry nuclear bombs.
