Master Ryuho Okawa, founder and CEO of Happy Science, gave a lecture titled “The Great Turning Point in Human History” to commemorate his birthday on July 7th. The lecture, given at the Saitama Super Arena (in Saitama City) was a global event that was broadcast live to 3500 locations throughout the world.

As the “World Teacher”, Master Okawa has given lectures across five continents to show the nations of the world the direction in which they should progress. His teachings encompass the truth about the spiritual world, life teachings, politics, economics, business management, education, and the future of science. His lectures count over 2300, and the number of publications (as of June) surpass 1900.

Toward the beginning of his lecture, Master Okawa pointed out that during the 70-year postwar period, Japan has failed to work for the benefit of others in a way that is commensurate with its national power. He mentioned that in the future, Japan should make conscious choices to become an example for nations that will follow.

In his lecture, he touched on the domestic problems seen in both Japan and the United States, the threat that China poses to regional and world peace, Greece’s fiscal problems, and many other international issues, and summarized that ultimately, the reason behind the chaos currently enveloping the world is due to a lack of wisdom and cognition.

He mentioned that the reason why Happy Science continues to publish many spiritual messages is to “make it known that the spiritual era has come”. Also revealed was the true meaning behind the idea of “universal human rights”, as guaranteed by the Constitution, that comes from understanding that “Democracy can be either ‘Godless’ or be ‘based on God'”.

In the end, Master Okawa stated to enormous applause that “I hope from the bottom of my heart that every one of you will make full use of your lives as a means of study, complete your spiritual studies, and become a being close to God that is capable of leading those who live on Earth”.

In his lecture, the following issues were also addressed:

• Two large trends that encompass the world.
• The will of Gods behind the last War.
• How to evaluate the “legal status of the U.S.-Japan alliance” and “Constitutionalism” currently debated in Japan.
• The future that awaits the U.S. that chose to legalize gay marriage.
• The essence of Greece’s fiscal problems.
• The danger behind China’s claims to being a “nation of laws”.
• The nature of a “Spirit of a Religious Nation” advocated by Happy Science.
