Press Coverage of Fukushima Misleading – Japan is Safe

The level of radiation that escaped after the nuclear accident at the Fukushima reactor is not harmful to human health. Not one person has died due to radiation damage after the accident. Apart from the area directly surrounding the reactor, Japan has suffered no damage. What we should be afraid of in the aftermath of the accident is not radiation damage but the fear mongering of the press surrounding the radiation leak. “The Liberty” has been one of the only Japanese media to repeatedly emphasize this.

On June 4th 2011, 3 months after the earthquake, Master Ryuho Okawa of Happy Science gave a lecture in Fukushima Prefecture titled: “Acts of God and Acts of Man”. He mentioned about the Japanese media distorting the accident in their coverage, and cautioned people to beware of political forces trying to put a stop to nuclear reactors in Japan, which would cause power shortages, destroy citizens’ lives and the country’s industry, and send Japan into poverty. Adding a religious angle, he also explained that if spiritual energy was used properly, it could deflect radiation.

This is an excerpt from the lecture and the ensuing question and answer session. The Liberty claims foreign media to have a look at this version of events untold by the biased majority of Japan’s media, and acknowledge that this point of view also exists in Japan.
