Legions of grasshoppers are rampaging in three continents around the world.

Agricultural crops in Africa and Eurasia are being damaged by desert locusts. In India, there have been reports that grasshoppers are attacking and damaging livestock, which is completely out of the ordinary.

The July 2020 issue of this magazine predicted that armies of grasshoppers would storm China. Damage has been confirmed across large areas, including Heilongjiang, Hubei, Jilin, Hunan, Yunnan, and Guangxi regions.

Furthermore, in the South American countries of Argentina and Paraguay, a type of patanga japonica grasshoppers are said to be consuming crops equivalent to the food of 35,000 people per day.

Argentina made up for 12.3% of the world’s corn exports in 2018 and is a major agricultural power. People have pointed out the potential impact on food prices around the world.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations warned that grasshoppers can adversely affect around 20% of Earth’s land and 10% of world population.

A Time When Heaven’s Will Can Be Observed

Locusts are occurring simultaneously worldwide. It is becoming an international problem along with Covid-19. How should we view this issue?

Outbreak of grasshoppers has been regarded as divine punishment towards humanity. In ancient times, the Old Testament records outbreaks of grasshoppers, along with disasters, striking Egypt prior to the exodus of Moses.

We are witnessing Heaven’s will in progressive form — especially in China, where atheism is the national standard, various disasters such as locusts, Covid-19, floods, and intensifying internal stress within the Communist Party are setting up the stage for political change. Things beyond human ordinance will most likely continue to occur.
