Organ Harvesting From Innocent Prisoners On The Rise In China

Key points in this article:

  • A “Stop Medical Genocide” press conference was held on the China problem
  • China conducts between 60,000 to 100,000 organ transplants per year, and the extractions are overwhelmingly made from Falun Gong followers
  • The Japanese government and medical practitioners must properly face this problem

Every year China performs around 100,000 organ transplants, and a majority of those organs are extracted from living innocent victims. The truth behind this atrocity was finally unveiled.

On the 24th of January, David Matas (International human rights lawyer from Canada), David Kilgour (Member of Parliament, Canada) and Jacob Lavee (Israeli heart transplantation doctor) opened a press conference at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan on Stop Medical Genocide to present 10 years’ worth of research into China’s organ harvesting problem.

At the press conference, they played a 20-minute video entitled “Medical Genocide: the hidden genocide in China’s organ transplant industry” while adding verbal commentary.

100,000 Transplants Per Year

In the video, Matas, Kilgour and London-based journalist Ethan Gutmann announced that they published in June 2016 the book, entitled “Bloody Harvest/The Slaughter: An Update”, their conclusion to 10 years of research.

The book made calculations based on the number of hospitals in China that were licenced to perform transplants (169 hospitals) and found that the number of transplants performed in China were between 60,000 and 100,000 per year. The Beijing government’s official report states that they only perform 10,000 transplant operations per year. The authors concluded that the government was lying.

How is it possible to perform so many transplants? The reason for the absurdly large number of transplants is because they forcedly extract organs from innocent Falun Gong practitioners. They also extract organs from Uyghurs and Tibetans and Chinese Christians.

“Even if the number of transplant operations was 50,000 per year, it would mean that they kill 165 people every day,” Kilgour said at the press conference. “Most of the organ providers are ‘innocent prisoners’: Falun Gong practitioners. The Falun Gong people are forced to work over 16 hours a day, and then are forced to take a transplant test to determine whether their organs are okay for extraction”.

China’s Organ Transplants Are “On-Demand Slaughters”

Since 1999 the Chinese organ transplant industry has grown rapidly. Timing-wise it corresponds with the oppression of the Falun Gong, and this is no coincidence.

In 1999 around 10,000 Falun Gong followers attempted a silent resistance against the government. Feeling them to be a threat, the Communist Party intensified their oppression against the Falun Gong from 2000 onwards. Many Falun Gong followers were detained all over China and were thrown into concentration camps.

Chinese authorities then decided to kill these innocent Falun Gong people by extracting their organs to answer the rising demands for organ donors. Of course, this all happens against the will of the Falun Gong people.

In the U.S., the waiting list for organ donors is up to 2 to 3 years, but in China it is a mere 1 to 2 weeks. In some cases, organs can be provided in just a few hours. The truth about the matter is that they are always ready to extract organs from Falun Gong people.

“No one knows when people will die, so we cannot pre-plan an organ transplant,” Lavee said at the press conference. “But in China, they can do transplants in just 1 to 2 weeks. This is because they give the death sentence to the imprisoned Falun Gong follower and extract the organ on the same day. I had a patient who went to China for a transplant because the patient heard that they can get one done in two weeks’ time”.

“In China, they do health and blood tests to make a list of organ providers,” Matas added. “In other words, the providers are on a ‘waiting-list’. This is an on-demand slaughter, where they kill people when the demand arises. The government is involved in this, and they even made a 5-year plan. In fact, they even made a ‘brain death’ machine to create artificial brain deaths”.

How to Stop China’s Illegal Organ Harvesting

Thus, China has performed over 1,000,000 organ transplants since 2000. This inhumane organ harvesting is still happening.

Lavee commented that some Japanese patients go to China for transplants.

“At least 66 Japanese patients have had organ transplants in China. This is because Japanese health insurance can be used overseas.”

“In Israel, the transplant law was legislated in 2008, so that if an Israeli gets a transplant in a country that is on negative political terms with Israel, insurance doesn’t pay for the operation,” he added. “As a result, the number of patient who go to China for transplants became ‘zero’. Japan should legislate such a law.”

Involvement in illegal organ transplants is punishable by law not only in Israel but also Spain, Italy and Taiwan. In 2016 the U.S. passed a Resolution, “Expressing concern regarding persistent and credible reports of systematic, state-sanctioned organ harvesting from non-consenting prisoners of conscience in the People’s Republic of China, including from large numbers of Falun Gong practitioners and members of other religious and ethnic minority groups.”

Kilgour followed up Lavee’s suggestion to Japan saying, “Japan should take initiative to resolve this problem”.

While on the surface, this problem is about organ transplants, what China is doing is the same as Hitler and Stalin’s mass murders. Japan cannot let such a horrific crime continue.

The Japanese government must stop their people from going to China for transplants by revising insurance company schemes, and make China stop oppressing her people. Medical practitioners should also discourage patients form going to China for transplants and educate more people on the atrocities happening in China’s organ transplant industry.
