The Americans and Chinese Created ”The Rape of Nanking”, Spread Their Lies, and Falsified the Story Surrounding the “Nanking Incident”, Which Made News Worldwide as a “Massacre”

The “Nanking Massacre” was fiction, which the Americans and Chinese created after the end of WW2, to judge Japan. However, in 1997, due to “The Rape of Nanking”, which Chinese American Iris Chang wrote, the “Nanking Massacre” lies spread, especially in America, and anti-Japanese sentiments flourished. Behind the scenes, it was easy to see how China and America had joined together in an “anti-Japan” propaganda campaign, but it wasn’t obvious to the majority of the public.

In 1997, America Suddenly Focused on the “Nanking Massacre”

It was the Chinese American female journalist, Iris Chang, who made it happen. “The Rape of Nanking”, from here, “Ms. Chang’s book”, stated that the Japanese army massacred 300,000 people and raped as many as 80,000 women, which shocked Americans. The book became a bestseller, and the stores sold over 500,000 copies. However, in 2004, while Ms. Chang was working a book with a different subject, she suddenly died of mysterious circumstances related to her passing.

Regardless of the best-selling status that her book attained in America, the “Nanking Massacre”, which Ms. Chang’s book used as a source, was a lie that a WW2 victor nation created to bring judgment upon Japan in the midst of the Tokyo Trial in order to counter the impact of the report on America’s war crime causalities, in one night there were 100,000 Tokyo firebombing victims, men, women, and children, mostly defenseless civilians. Ms. Chang’s book featured many photos that showed a “massacre”, but most of them were fake, and her cited documents were, for the most part, not primary sources.

The journalist Ms. Meika, a former elite member of the Chinese Communist Party, stated, “(During the war,) my grandfather traveled to various areas in China for business, and he never told me about the Nanking Massacre. In fact, I actually heard from him that the Kuomintang Party massacred their own countrymen during the civil war in mainland China, but, Mao Zedong of the Communist Party was not aware of the incidents of violence (Note 2).

The Truth About “The Rape of Nanking” Revealed in a Spiritual Message

Master Ryuho Okawa of the Happy Science Group called forth the spirit of Ms. Chang, and he conducted a public, spiritual reading in June of 2014, to investigate the truth about Ms. Chang’s work and her death. The spirit of Ms. Chang confessed, “An anti-Japanese association told me to write the book, and that they would pay me for it as well as provide the necessary materials.” Moreover, during the interview, Ms. Chang revealed, “If the victims were only 10 or 20,000 in number, the book wouldn’t have sold, would it? Plus, Japan had lost 300,000 due to the atomic bombs and other things, so I really wanted to hit that 300,000 number mark.”

Regarding her mysterious death, Ms. Chang stated, “I was heavily medicated, and then was left – to look like I killed myself.” She unfortunately didn’t know who the culprit was because it was so sudden.

In the end, Ms. Chang apologized, “People of Japan, I’m sorry. My book was a work of fiction. Please take it out of print.”

Ms. Chang and a Chinese Organization Formed a United Front

As a result of her confession, it’s clear that Ms. Chang’s book was a “propaganda” piece that she created from layers of lies, but as is always the case with this kind of material, behind the scenes, one can easily uncover how Chinese American organizations and the Chinese government have been pulling the strings.

Headquartered in America, with a network of Chinese organizations and the “Global Alliance for Preserving the History of WW2 in Asia” at its center, pro-Chinese supporters gave their complete assistance to Ms. Chang while she was alive. This particular alliance had over 30 related organizations, and Ms. Chang was a member of some of them.

Ignatius Ding, the founder, stated, “It was very clear to me that it was convenient for the Chinese authorities when I consulted with the Chinese side (note 3).” In this way, he suggested a hidden connection between her work and the Chinese government.

The alliance set up lectures, relating to the Nanking Massacre, one after another in places like New York City and Chicago, and Ms. Chang’s visits alone numbered 65 cities in 1 and a half years.

Ms. Chang held a talk at the Holocaust Memorial Hall in California, and initiated a “grassroots movement” with an anti-Japanese historical perspective in a united front with a Jewish organization that represented the victims of the Nazis.

An American writer and friend from her university days, who wrote a book on her friendship with Ms. Chang, told The Liberty, “Ms. Chang was a kind and earnest person. She also was ambitious (see the column below).” Perhaps the Chinese abused her strong conscience because they wanted to put the Japanese on display as war criminals.

We tried to reach Ms. Chang’s mother, Ying Ying Chang, and Mr. Ding of the anti-Japanese alliance, but they declined our phone calls. However, Mr. Ding, who refused on grounds of being too busy, announced, “We are working on 3 big projects right now.” Rumors hold the projects to be related to the support of the organization’s operations, an expansion of its bilingual web site, and the making a documentary film. Details remain unclear, but they must be some kind of an “anti-Japanese projects”, for sure, since that’s the work of the alliance

The Sharing of an Anti-Japanese Historical Perspective Amongst the Americans and Chinese Gave Birth to Ms. Chang’s Book

Ms. Chang’s activities stretched into the political arena. The anti-Japanese alliance used Ms. Chang as a lecturer and held seminars for members of Congress and many of their aides. They came into contact with hugely influential politicians such as the then President Bill Clinton, Vice President Al Gore, and Congressman Mike Honda (who was a legislator at the time).

The anti-Japanese alliance frequently lobbies democratic politicians in Washington, D.C. Speaking of which, did you know that President Franklin Roosevelt was a democrat? He was the man who cornered Japan into war. Well, at any rate, it has been proven that America and China’s historical perspective aligned over these issues in order to keep Japan portrayed as the bad guy from WW2.

A leftist organization, the “MacArthur Foundation”, which denounces human rights problems and military crimes, has been in on it as well. It was attracted to Ms. Chang, who claimed to expose the Japanese military’s crimes of war, It even funded her.

Through Ms. Chang’s bestseller, China’s anti-Japanese activities, which have sought to isolate Japan, have gradually penetrated into the depths of American society. In the 1990s, after half a century had passed since the end of the war, America and China still wished the world to remember them as victorious nations from WW2. They used this opportunity to ensure the public of their historical justifications for the post-war order and to restrain Japan, a country that had been expanding economically at the time. In this regard, America’s lies from the Tokyo Trial and China’s propaganda produced Ms. Chang’s book, and her Chinese American collaborators went so far as to initiate a worldwide, anti-Japanese, protest movement.

Ms. Chang Did Not Commit Suicide

However, the anti-Japanese movement took a new turn with the start of the Republican Bush regime. After the 2001 terrorist attacks, President Bush needed the support of Japan, and didn’t see an anti-Japanese movement in his country as a favorable way to secure it.

Afterwards, Ms. Chang told her family that someone was targeting her. She received treatment at a mental institute for her paranoid condition. Her parents brushed it off as anxiety and post-partum depression. In 2004, Ms. Chang supposedly killed herself with a handgun.

In her suicide note, Ms. Chang wrote that the C.I.A. was chasing her, and that the government had her detained at Norton Mental Hospital. She also spoke to her husband, Bret Douglas, about her ordeal.

“Iris believed that the CIA and the American government forcibly held her against her will, and detained her in a mental hospital in Louisville. Three months before her death, she told a number of people about these very horrifying experiences.” (note 4)

Her friend from university, a fellow journalist and the one who wrote the book about her, said, “(Regarding Ms. Chang’s death,) I asked the FBI to disclose any information that it had, but unfortunately I couldn’t get anything.”

However, Master Okawa was able to get some answers, and his spiritual message revealed that Ms. Chang did not die from suicide. Someone murdered her.

A Female, American Writer, Who Was Ms. Chang’s Close Friend, Agreed to an Interview with The Liberty. Here’s What She Said.

“Ms. Chang Was Kind, yet Ambitious.”

Ms. Chang was a very kind and thoughtful person, but she was also misunderstood quite often. She had an extremely ambitious side, and to show that, she would come into conflict with people and would often make them angry.

Ms. Chang became motivated to write about “Nanking” when she saw a photo of the massacre at an anti-Japanese alliance event held in California. She was shocked. An organizational alliance met her there, and used its Chinese network across America to help her publicize “Nanking”. Her relationship with the anti-Japanese alliance ran very deep.

Ms. Chang left in her suicide note that she was being “chased by the CIA.” For this reason, I asked the FBI to disclose any information that it had, but unfortunately I couldn’t get anything. However, I can’t understand why the American government would have felt that her existence was an inconvenience. That’s why I believe that mental illness caused her suicide.

The Kuomintang Government Falsified the Nanking Burial Records to Help America to Damage Japan’s Reputation During the Tokyo Trial

An Interview with Kenichi Ara

Kenichi Ara, Researcher of Modern History
He was born in Miyagi Prefecture in 1944. After Mr. Ara graduated from Tohoku University’s Department of Literature, he worked for a record company. He’s currently a critic. His works include, “(Re-Investigation) What Really Happened in Nanking” (Tokuma Shouten), etc.

China insists that the Japanese military massacred 300,000 people in Nanking. That number was based on burial records that the Kuomintang government submitted at the Tokyo Trial. However, a charitable organization named “Suzendo” did most of the burial work, and it kept a tight, accurate record of the bodies from the time of the capture of Nanking. Its records claimed a total of 112,000 burials.

Yet, I discovered a “lie” there. Suzendo was actually an organization that brought up children. It did not have the tools, staff, or the skills to bury people. Plus, it usually takes 4 people to carry a body and dig a hole, only to bury one person.

In modern terms, it would be as if an orphanage suddenly began to take care of dead bodies. It would be very difficult to engage suddenly in this kind of vast burial work. Moreover, at the time of the capture of Nanking, the organization’s staff had previously escaped, and its activities had already ceased to exist.

In the end, the burial records, which were filled with made-up numbers from the Kuomintang government of Chiang Kai-shek, became a tool to damage Japan during the Tokyo Trial. The defense lawyers at the Tokyo Trial objected to use of the falsified records, but the judges overruled their objections and entered them as evidence without any efforts to verify the figures.

After the war, the Asahi Newspaper set up a “Nanking Massacre” campaign. However, I heard from Asahi’s Nanking bureau chief, and according to his story, there was no Nanking Massacre. There were many journalists in Nanking. During the day, they would scatter out to do their reporting, and they would return to the same place at night. Nobody talked about any massacre at the time.

Americans Believe that Ms. Chang Told the Truth

(From a 15 year old, Japanese, male, public school student in New Jersey, U.S.A.)

The other day in English class the topic was the “Holocaust (genocide)”. The teacher featured stories from Tibet, Rwanda, and Nanking.

Two female students, who selected “Nanking” for their presentation topics, used Iris Chang’s “The Rape of Nanking” as a source. During one of the presentations, a student played a video of an elderly Chinese woman who said things like, “The Japanese army raped me in Nanking. It wiped out my family.”

During the war, my grandfather was near Nanking, and through my mother I heard his report that there was no massacre in Nanking. So, I felt very angry during that class.

I remember another time, when an American student asked, “When America dropped two atomic bombs on Japan, wasn’t that a holocaust?” The same history teacher answered, “That was for justice, not for genocide.” I feel bad that so many Americans believe in the story from “The Rape of Nanking”, and I’m sad that they’re of the opinion that the killing of the Japanese civilians with America’s atom bombs was “justice”.
